The most popular destinations are Kathmandu (UNESCO temples and Durbar Squares), Pokhara (lakes and Annapurna views), Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna region for trekking, Chitwan for wildlife, Lumbini (the Buddha's birthplace), and quieter gems like Bandipur, Mustang, Ilam and Rara Lake.
A week lets you combine Kathmandu, Pokhara and one short trek or safari. Two weeks or more is ideal for adding a full Himalayan trek (Everest or Annapurna Base Camp) plus cultural and wildlife stops.
October–November and March–April offer the clearest skies and best mountain views across most destinations. The lowland Terai (Chitwan, Lumbini) is also pleasant in winter, while Mustang stays accessible even during the monsoon.
